Description
Immediately the warm sweet aromas of cinnamon baked apples, strawberry tartlets with brown sugar as well as chocolate mousse with wine-soaked cherries filled the room. The taste neat was sweet and juicy with a hint of spice, like an orange Muscat or a medium sweet Bual Madeira wine – curl up next to a friend in front of the open fire. Diluted; a buttery light fluffy fruitcake with candied pineapple chunks, cherries and sultanas whilst on the palate we all nursed a glass of hot pomegranate toddy. After 36 years in an ex-bourbon hogshead, we transferred this whisky directly into a 1st fill Sauternes cask for the remainder of its maturation.
