Description
In turns fruity and sweet at first. The panel noted aromas of buttermint, clove rock, camphor, pear drops, lime jelly and cough medicine with orange blossom, butter and a delicate, drying earthiness. Water gave us lemon zest, spearmint chewing gum, crushed pistachio nuts, ripe apples and hints of solvent and chestnuts. The palate delivered salty tannins, toffee chews, young calvados, aged perry, grape must and orange bitters. Water brought out ripe pears, caramelised peanuts, pumpernickel bread, green tea and a surprisingly tropical finale full of guava and melon with nectarine and apricot sloshing about in there as well for good measure.
